What’s the difference between Training and Battle Modes?

How do you unlock everything in the game?

Each kingdom will follow a similar pattern to unlock all the levels and items:
          
          Unlock Battle 1:  Score an accuracy of 90% or better in Training
          Unlock the Staff:  Find all 3 creatures in Training
          Unlock the Robe:  Find all 6 creatures in Battle 1
          Unlock Battle 2:  Purchase the staff and get a perfect score in Battle 1
          
          A sixth robe and staff will be revealed when you have purchased all the others.
          
          Potions can be found during battles or are rewarded in the Daily Chest.
          
          There are two powerful magic item that can only be discovered in Battle 2 of any kingdom. The better you do, the better the odds of finding one.
          
          The final battle is revealed when you've successfully rescued every creature from each kingdom.

How many questions are in each round?

The total amount of questions depends on a few things.
          
          Training: You must answer 20 questions correctly. If you get any wrong, they are added to the end of the round and shown again until you finish all 20 correctly. You can only make 3 mistakes before you lose the round.
          
          Battle Rounds: Each monster begins with a fixed amount of health. Every correct answer deals damage, and every incorrect answer heals the monster slightly. Because of this, you may need extra questions beyond the base amount to finish the fight.
          
          Base Monster Health by Level:
          Battle 1 = ~13 questions worth of damage
          Battle 2 = ~16 questions worth of damage
          Final Boss = ~20 questions worth of damage

Are the monsters too scary for my child?

The art style leans whimsical and storybook-like, but a few creatures—such as the craggy tree golems or ghostly rock spirits—may look a little intense to some younger players. That said, there are no jump scares, loud noises, or horror themes.
          
          Most kids see the creatures as characters in an adventure world, not something to be afraid of. And if your child prefers gentler companions, the game includes plenty of cute, friendly creatures they can unlock and focus on instead.

Are the battles violent? Is my child too young?

QuestCaster is designed for kids in grades K–5 who are just beginning to learn and master their math facts. QuestCaster includes light, cartoon-style battles with whimsical creatures. There is no blood, gore, or realistic violence of any kind. During battles, a simple health bar decreases, and when a creature’s health runs out it is not harmed, it is merely scared away. All action is playful, age-appropriate, and designed to support learning, not fighting.
